Two smartphones as the variants of Redmi Note 5, listed as the Xiaomi MEE7S and MET7S have been seen receiving 3C certification in China. But the company has decided to phase out the Note line of Xiaomi. Therefore as the successor of Redmi Note 4, the company might Redmi 5 Plus. Nevertheless, we will soon get to know what is coming as next smartphone in the Note line of Xiaomi. The Chinese company launched the Redmi 5 Plus in China last month.
With the certification, many specifications of the device have been revealed. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 comes in two variants – the first variant will be powered by a Snapdragon 630 processor, while the high-end model will be powered by a Snapdragon 636 processor.
Coming to the other specifications, the smartphone will sport a 5.99-inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080) resolution and comes with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Redmi Note 5 might feature a dual rear camera setup which will be a combination of a 16MP primary camera and a 5MP secondary shooter. There is an 8MP camera on the front for taking selfies. The phone is tipped to comes with a 4100mAh battery. Redmi Note 5 runs Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box with MIUI 9. It is also rumored that the phone will come with a facial recognition feature.
For the price segment, the base variant will cost around 1499 Yuan (or approx Rs 15, 069) and the high-end model will be priced at 1799 Yuan (or approx Rs 18,08). The company is expected to exhibit its new offerings at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona next month.
