The Xiaomi Mi A1 is one of the best devices to offer good features in its respective price range. Bharti Airtel has recently rolled out VoLTE services in Mumbai and in other five circles. But now, Airtel will be adding the VoLTE support for the Xiaomi Mi A1 and OnePlus 5 both soon. The company is presently testing the VoLTE service in both of these phones.
There are very limited devices presently that support Airtel VoLTE. But Airtel is working hard to get more devices under its loop as early as possible. The Xiaomi devices that currently support the Airtel VoLTE service are Xiaomi Mi 5, Mi Max, Mi Max Prime, and Redmi Note 4. Besides these, as per the information received from sources, the Xiaomi smartphone users in the Mumbai circle can enjoy the Airtel VoLTE services but the Xiaomi users in other regions will have to wait a bit longer.
Bharti Airtel offers VoLTE service in Mumbai, Rest of Maharashtra and Goa, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The VoLTE service is currently in the testing phase in many regions like Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. It is said that the company might release the VoLTE services in all the metro circles by the end of this year.
How does Airtel roll out the VoLTE support for a device?
Airtel first gets in touch with the mobile manufacturer and gives them the necessary patches for VoLTE. The mobile manufacture then delivers the VoLTE support to the smartphone through a software update. But getting the VoLTE support enabled totally lies at the Airtel’s end. Airtel then tests the service internally for about three to four days and then enables the VoLTE support for the device. It is important that you get the Airtel Sim registered in the same region as the VoLTE supported circle.
It may be noted that this service is a temporary one and Airtel can roll out a PAN-India VoLTE support soon if it plans for it.
