Now in order to be in this raging competition among the telecom incumbents, Vodafone has launched two new combo packs for its customers in India. Dubbed as Rs 549 and Rs 799, the plans offer 3.5GB and 4.5GB data per day, respectively. These prepaid plans are said to offer similar benefits as the Reliance Jio plans. The new Rs. 549 pack will compete against Jio’s Rs. 509 pack which offers 3GB data per day for 28 days, while the Rs. 799 pack will be hitting for Jio’s Rs. 799 pack that offers 5GB data per day for the same 28 days period. Similarly, Airtel also has its Rs. 799 plan with 3.5GB per day data limit.
Talking about the plans more briefly, with the Rs 549 plan, Vodafone customers will get 3.5GB of 4G data per day and the pack offers a validity of 28 days which makes the total data of 98GB in the validity. Also, the pack offers unlimited voice calls on local and STD network along with free national roaming. Along with all these, 100 SMS per day are also bundled with this pack. Talking about the Rs 749 plan, it offers 126GB of data for 28 days with a daily capping of 4.5GB. All other beneficiaries were same as the plan mentioned above.
However, the major pitfall of these plans is the voice calling FUP with these plans. According to the report, the FUP is 250 minutes of calls per day and 1,000 minutes of calls per week to 300 unique numbers throughout the validity period. Furthermore, these prepaid plans are said to be bundled with a free subscription to Vodafone Play. We are yet to witness what is coming more in the future with this consistent war.
