Since the launch of Jio in the telecom market, many other telecom service providers are finding it very hard to compete against it. Vodafone is one such incumbent which is now offering a neck to neck competition to the rival Reliance Jio along with Bharti Airtel. Just like Airtel and Idea Cellular, Vodafone is also are known for offering circle-specific and user-specific tariff plans. Keeping this in mind, the company has launched Rs 549 and Rs 799 prepaid tariff plans for its users in Haryana, Maharashtra & Goa, Mumbai, Rajasthan, UP West circles.
These plans were already launched for the customers in Gujarat and Karnataka circles some time ago. Although the benefits provided by Vodafone is almost similar in all the circles, there is some difference in the plan also. The Rs 549 tariff plan from Vodafone offer 3.5GB data per day, while the Rs 799 prepaid tariff plan provides 4.5GB data per day. Both the plans come with a validity period of 28 days. However, in Mumbai and Rajasthan circles, the Rs 549 and Rs 799 prepaid tariff plans don’t offer any SMS benefits but in the circle of Haryana, Maharashtra & Goa, UP West, Gujarat, and Karnataka, the company has offered 100 SMS per day for the given validity period.
Also, these plans are bundled with unlimited voice calls even on roaming, but unfortunately they are limited to 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week. The introduction of these plans was done to compete against Reliance Jio’s Rs 509 and Rs 799 prepaid tariff plans which offer insane 4GB data per day and 5GB data per day respectively. Airtel is also not among the ones who sit quietly so we have to wait for any action from Airtel against this.
