In March, this year Samsung came up with its flagship smartphone Galaxy S8 and along with it came to much talked about Bixby.
Bixby is Samsung’s voice-activated virtual assistant which comes with features like, Bixby Voice, Bixby Vision, Bixby Home and Bixby Reminder.
Although the assistant got mixed reviews from the users, South Korean company’s AI has decided to make Bixby compatible with Galaxy S8’s earphones.
Reports suggest that the South Korean original equipment manufacturer (OEM) is wrapping up the research and development phase of the project and may be ready to commercialize it in the coming months. This could possibly be around the launch of Galaxy Note 8.
The earphones are expected to be compatible and compactly communicable with Bixby’s servers, using wireless technology to connect which could probably be Bluetooth, Wifi or cellular data.
No detailed features about the device have been revealed but it is expected to have noise-blocking technology that can eliminate external audio interference in an effort to facilitate the process of making a phone call. The earpiece may also support Bluetooth 5.0, which is the latest version of the wireless technology used in Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.
There is no official word about the details of this earpiece from the company but it is highly speculated that the device will be launched alongside Galaxy S8 this year.
