As per the data released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) on Friday, Reliance Jio has topped the 4G download speed chart leaving behind all other incumbents. The company recorded a speed of 19.6mbps in mobile broadband in October.
TRAI has launched its MySpeed application to calculate the download and upload speed of different networks on a real-time basis and the app was launched late last year.
The closest telecom service provider to Jio is Vodafone which has registered an average download speed of 9.3mbps in October. It has to be noted that the speed of Jio has fallen as compared to data of September when it recorded a speed of compared to the 21.9mbps. Airtel comes at third position with the 4G download speed of 9.3Mbps, whereas, Idea comes next with 8.1Mbps speed.
However, Idea is on top with highest 4G upload speeds in the country at 6.5 Mbps, which is followed by 5.9Mbps for Vodafone. The speed for uploading for Jio and Airtel users is fairly close which are 4.1Mbps and 3.5Mbps 4G upload speeds, respectively. However, there is a dip in the upload speed of these networks if we compare to the last month’s data. The Idea, Vodafone, Jio and Airtel upload speeds in September were 7.1Mbps, 6.2Mbps, 4.9Mbps, and 3.9Mbps, respectively.
Since Jio has entered the telecom sector, it has been a nightmare for all other service providers. There is a constant competition among them which results in many competitive offers and deals which they offer.
