Mukesh Ambani led telecom operator Reliance Jio has recently updated its Rs. 149 prepaid recharge plan and has upgraded the same to offer unlimited internet access to its subscribers.
The Rs.149 plan that had been prevailing since a while had been offering 2GB of internet access. The new upgrade allows the users who have subscribed to this data plan to access unlimited data beyond the 2GB data; however, the speed of the data beyond the regular quote will be low.
After the update of this plan, Reliance Jio is now left only with two prepaid recharge packs, that are, Rs.19 and Rs.49 plan, which does not offer its subscribers with an unlimited internet access once the regular FUP has been consumed.
The Rs. 149 plan still comes with 2GB internet access plan that is valid for 28 days. The new upgrade allows the consumption of data beyond the 2GB quota, but at a slower speed of 64Kbps after the 2GB data has been consumed that is going to run at the normal higher 4G speed.
The Jio prepaid packs that offer data at a slower speed offering an unlimited internet access are the Rs.96 and Rs.309 plan that still offers data at 128 Kbps, after the high speed regular quota of data has been consumed.
The Rs.149 is however a less costly plan than the Rs.309 plan that offers 1GB data each data for 56 days. The Rs. 96 plan offers 7GB of 4G data for 7 days. Post-paid users cannot avail the benefits of the Rs.149 plan that comes with free SMSes services and the free calls besides offering an unlimited internet access.
