Have you settled with the OnePlus 5? Well, if no. You have a chance now. OnePlus has launched a special edition of the sequel of the OnePlus 3T. It is labelled as the “OnePlus 5 JCC+”. The flagship smartphone company had collaborated with Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, a French designer to unveil the “Callection”.
The Limited-Edition model of the OnePlus 5 is a blend of technology with art. It would put up for sales only in Europe and would be priced as 559 Euros i.e. Rs. 42877. You can grab your copy on October 2 via OnePlus.net.
“Callection” is a line of products co-created by JCC and OnePlus. It includes bags, caps, holsters, shirts, and the limited-edition OnePlus 5. Castelbajac’s signature chromatic style gets purely reflected in the OnePlus 5 JCC+.
Caselbajac is high on his spirits following the team-up with OnePlus. “I always like looking towards the future. To change the world, you always need to be creative and work with people who are ahead of their time,” he acclaimed.
The device will now sport loud and brightly colored hardware and software components. A mantra now positions itself on the back-end of the phone. You’ll find 10 wallpapers and many more surprises, upon booting your OnePlus 5 JCC+.
A pop-up event would be organized in the OnePlus retail store in Paris on September 22 at 11.00 a.m. CET in celebrations of the special edition release. Again, OnePlus has partnered with Colette, the fashion boutique for the event.
Carl Pei, co-founder and head of global OnePlus expressed his delight over the collaboration with JCC. “We’re always looking to try new things with partners who embody the Never Settle spirit. It’s been great collaborating with an icon like Jean-Charles Castelbajac, who is continuously bringing game-changing ideas to the fashion industry.”
On the sad part, the OnePlus 5 JCC+ won’t enter the Indian subcontinent. However, you can get your hands on the tote bag for Rs. 1599 or the ‘Never Settle’ T-shirts at Rs. 1999.
That being said, OnePlus is also working on providing the OnePlus 5 with the perks of the Android 8.0 Oreo. Previously, beta testing rumors of OnePlus 5 on the Oreo were flooding across the web. Yet now, the Chinese manufacturer has officially declared via its Twitter handle about the crunchy Oreo sweeping into the OnePlus 5.
An image of the OnePlus 5 over a cookie with a title “…Elf on the Shelf…” has been streaming virally over the net. This corresponds to a somewhat Christmassy Oreo update for the device. This in turn, sets the debut of the Android Oreo in the OnePlus 5 by December 2017.
Alongside, the company is also simultaneously toiling for the updates on its OxygenOS. After fixing minor bugs, the beta build of its customized UI might roll out by the end of this calendar month. The new OxygenOS would run compatible with the Android 8.0 Oreo.
