OnePlus 5T has started receiving OxygenOS 4.7.6 as the new software update. The update available via over-the-air (OTA) route offers camera and system performance enhancements. Also, the new version brings assistive lighting for the preloaded Face Unlock feature, various performance fixes, and the December Android security patch.
Looking at the changes coming in with the OxygenOS 4.7.6 update. Firstly, the most significant development is the addition of assistive lighting for the Face Unlock feature. The option called Face Unlock Assistive Lighting under the Face Unlock settings, when enabled, lights up the screen to make your face visible to the front camera. This will help to easily unlock the smartphone even in low light environments.
The OnePlus 5T’s advanced facial recognition technology gives a tough competition to Apple’s iPhone X. And now, the new tweak is seemingly designed to make that compelling feature better than before. Apart from the assistive lighting addition, the OxygenOS 4.7.6 update for the OnePlus 5T comes with stability improvements and various performance enhancements for third-party camera apps. Additionally, there are clarity improvements for self-portrait shots under low light. And, the update brings improvements to expanded screenshot and Wi-Fi display. Along with these, is the December Android security patch.
You can check the arrival of the OxygenOS 4.7.6 manually on your OnePlus 5T. For this, you need to go to Settings, and then open System updates.
However, OnePlus 5T Users are eagerly waiting for the Android 8.0 Oreo update. The latest Android experience is available in OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T, and OnePlus 5. Whereas, the 5T still runs Android Nougat.
