OnePlus is all geared up to dig out an Android 8.0 Oreo public beta by the end of this month. The company has so far initiated a closed beta for the new operating system of OnePlus 3, which has already received the Android 8.0 Oreo update notification.
Announced in June 2017, OnePlus 5 is currently running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat coupled with Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835.
Highlighting the fact that in June, the company exposed its plans about Android 8.0 Oreo update for OnePlus3, 3T being available before the end of 2017.
Surprisingly, OnePlus 3 was chosen to test the Oreo build instead of the more capable OnePlus 5 Smartphone. Yet, it should not be forgotten that the closed beta version is buggy, as for the users got a warning message stating- “a high chance that OTAs/upgrades could go poorly.” Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth are all said to be buggy in the first Oreo build.
The Shenzhen based Chinese company is working to fix all of the bugs and come up with a stable closed beta by mid September. If everything goes as planned, OnePlus will be one of the first to offer an Oreo update to its users.
Also, the company is offering 10 per cent discount via Student Beans (for successful verification), for students returning to high school, college and university in the coming days. Its validity is upto 12 months and more information can be fetched from oneplus.net .
