Nokia Android Devices Will Get Camera Updates as Well: Juho Sarvikas

There has been a long standing demand by Nokia fans for bringing back the Nokia Lumia Camera UI to the Nokia android smartphones. The Nokia licensee HMD Global had also got its hand on the Lumia Camera UI design patent few months ago and that time everyone had hoped that the company will soon be bringing it in some or all of its Nokia smartphones. Now, it looks like we were not wrong.

Chief Product Manager of HMD Global, Juho Sarvikas confirmed about the company’s plans to update the camera app on all of its Nokia smartphones in the coming future. He also gave a hint about the update having many of the features like the Lumia Camera UI. The present camera app in the Nokia smartphones is not that great and indeed this news seems really good for all the Nokia users worldwide. But there is no news yet on whether the new Camera app will be rolled out with the Android 8.0 Oreo update or if it will be rolled out as a separate update.

Juho Sarvikas who is very active on Twitter and communicates with his fans and customers has answered yes to the direct question of a person on Twitter on ‘will HMD update the camera app’. He also agreed to a comment that the UI of the Lumia Camera is the ‘most convenient UI ever’. The company has already made certain changes in the camera UI of the Nokia 8 and Nokia 7. But there is not much information right now on the Nokia 7 camera UI improvements.

Notably, the company has launched its mid ranger Nokia 2 handset today in India. The device will be available for sale from mid-November across the country. However, the price of Nokia 2 has not yet been revealed by the company.
