Nokia 8, which made its debut in August this year is planning to bring a successor Nokia 9. This much awaited handset will apparently be unveiled on January 19 in China, along with Nokia 6 (2018). To further ascertain our claim, we have reports from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). A phone with model number TA-1005 and code name ‘Avatar’ is available in the FCC listing. And, FCC database seemingly confirms it being the Nokia 9 and lists the specifications of the flagship smartphone.
Looking at the specifications of this much awaited high end smartphone. The handset flaunts a 5.5-inch OLED display screen (manufactured by LG). On the contrary, Nokia 8 comes with a 5.3-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440) IPS LCD display. In addition to this, Nokia 9 will feature a Snapdragon 835 processor and not the latest Snapdragon 845. It seems an 845 Soc will be seen in Samsung handsets. Besides this, if a rumor is to believe, Nokia 9 will be getting 128 GB of internal storage. This will be expandable via a microSD card slot.
On the camera front, Nokia 9 sports a dual-camera setup on the back, like the Nokia 8. However, the resolutions are slightly lower in the upcoming smartphone. It will have a 12 megapixel primary shooter and a 13 megapixel secondary sensor. In the front, the smartphone will have a 5 megapixel shooter.
Furthermore, the device will run Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. The connectivity options will be 4G LTE, single and dual-SIM variants, VoLTE (voice over LTE), dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, USB Type-C and A-GPS. To power the device, a 3250 mAh battery supporting fast charging will be on board. Moreover, the smartphone will have a charger, headphones and the USB cable in the box.
