The Nokia 8 smartphone basically comprises of dual 13 megapixel f/2.0 2GB and monochrome sensors at the back. However, there is a specialty in the camera set up of this handset.
The dual camera set up of Nokia 8 offers the ability to capture both images and videos from the front and rear cameras all at the same time.
Besides shooting still images from either of the sensors at the common instant and fusing both into one single picture, this Camera application on Nokia 8 allows live streaming of these “bothies” as full HD videos on both the popular social networking sites, Facebook and YouTube.
HMD has added that they worked with Qualcomm to enable this Dual Sight streaming feature on Nokia 8 while counteracting and minimising the thermal impact of the processing.
There is information that HMD is trying to use technology like the 360 VR camera to the Nokia 8 devices. Besides, this smartphone possesses high dynamic range microphones that allow us to record surround sound using the Nokia Ozo Audio algorithms.
The Company further adds that they are using software encoding which is believed to preserve the virtual surround sound even when these videos are shared on any of the social media sites.
At present, Nokia 8’s exclusive Dual Sight Streaming and Ozo Audio Recording features are going to be available only through the stock Camera App on the smartphone. This application is not going to be open to any third party applications besides the ones that belong to the smartphone.
Talking about the front camera, there is a 13 megapixel RGB shooter, identical to that at the rear end. Both the front and rear cameras are capable of recording 4K videos on their own. Besides, the sensors on the rear end offers laser autofocus and dual tone LED flash.
