HMD Global launched the Nokia 2 smartphone today in India. The company is trying hard to get back into the race in India by bringing in new smartphones. HMD claims that the major highlight of the Nokia 2 handset is its mammoth 4100mAh battery that can last up to 2 days. The Nokia 2 smartphone is a low-end device that will compete against other competitors in the market like the Xiaomi Redmi 4A and the Moto C. The price of the device in India has not been revealed by the company yet but it is said that the Nokia 2 will be available at EUR 99 which is roughly Rs 7,500. But, the company said that the device will be available for sale in India from mid-November.
Florian Sieche, HMD Global CEO said in the launch event that the company aims on customer satisfaction. It was also said in the launch event that 1,00,000 offline stores will soon be opened by the company where Nokia phones will be sold. He said that India ranks among top 3 markets for HMD in terms of sales.
The information listed of Nokia 2 on AnTuTu seems to be falling in line as the device indeed comes with a 5 inch LTPS HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. The device comes with 1.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor that will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat but will soon get the Android 8.0 update. It will be available in three color options- Copper Black, Pewter White and Pewter Black. The Nokia 2 is accompanied by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage that is expandable via microSD card. In the camera department, the Nokia 2 comes with a 5 mega pixel camera in the front while in the rear side the device comes with a 8 mega pixel camera. The device will also come with Google Assistant, which is the first device offering this feature in its price segment.
