Karbonn, a domestic smartphone manufacturing company, has recently unveiled one of its 4G enabled handsets for K9 series. A new budget-orientated smartphone, the K9 Kavach 4G has been launched in India on Tuesday with the price tag Rs.5,290. The smartphone will be available in selected retail stores as well as online stores in India. The USP of the smartphone is that it is integrated with BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) for UPI-based payment (Unified Payments Interface (UPI)-based app allows for mobile transactions by integrating bank accounts and providing users with a unique transaction address, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi) for India. It comes preloaded in the smartphone.
The K9 Kavach 4G is the cheapest smartphone to have a fingerprint scanner. Other highlighting features include e-KYC and Aadhaar authentication, Digilocker and e-Gov service access, which allows you to pay your friends in the contact list and messenger apps as well. Moreover, utility bills can be paid right from the device itself by the users.

Getting into the specification part, it features a 5.0-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is powered by a 1.25GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage that is further expandable up to 32GB. It comes with a 5MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. There’s a 5MP camera as well for the selfie lovers. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, and micro USB port. A 2300mAh battery houses the smartphone.
