Intex or Micromax Could Manufacture Reliance Jio’s 4G VOLTE Feature Phone: Reports

Reliance Jio has always brought some drastic changes in the telecom industry, say its Jio’s unlimited call offers or data offers. The another long rumored and much awaited Jio feature phone is in top buzzes nowadays, released just today.

Earlier the news came hinting towards the partnership of Jio with Intex on the smartphone front. Now, today at 40th Annual General meeting, a developing news has popped out, according to which, “Reliance is in advance stage of talks with Intex and Micromax for 4G feature phones but overall it is still in the discussion stage.”

In a recent statement, Nidhi Markanday, Director and Business Head, Intex Technologies said, “We will launch this 4G feature phone in this quarter, but will not be selling it stand alone in the market. We are in dialogue with Reliance Jio for bundling which should be through very soon. The pricing will be decided by Jio as it will be on the subsidized system only.” While on the other hand, Micromax also said, “We do have discussions with Jio regularly for one thing or the other.”

Some detailed images and specifications of the Reliance Jio 4G feature phone are out already, giving us a proper hint of what is coming with this legendary device. The phone will come with a 2.4-inch color display, supported by 512MB RAM and 4GB internal memory along with a dual-SIM. The phone could also have a microSD card support along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It will have a 2-megapixel rear camera and VGA front camera. No proper details about the processor have been revealed yet. Also, 2000mAh battery will be housing the phone.

The device is likely to be released in August. With 400 million feature phone users, this new phone can prove to be an another cash cow for the company.
