HTC U11 Life Starts Getting Android Oreo Update

HTC has rolled out Android Oreo update for HTC U11 smartphone. HTC’s VP of Product Management, Mo Versi, declared the Operating System upgrade on Twitter. Starting from today, HTC U11 users who are in the US will be able to update their smartphones to Android Oreo update. However, availability of this update is currently limited only to the unlocked devices.

According to the tweet by Versi, HTC is now working on getting the Operating System update available to the Sprint users as well. The Twitter post further unveils that HTC will be releasing the Android Oreo update for more smartphones including the HTC 10, U Ultra and U11 Life. HTC U11 users in the US are not the first ones to receive the update though, as the company had launched the same in Taiwan a week back.

The tweet by Versi said “Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. The Oreo OS update will be available for download on the HTC u11 unlocked version starting on Monday! Enjoy!”

It isn’t sure what additional features HTC U11 users will be getting with the new Android Oreo update. However, it is clear that the users will get an access to enjoy some of the amazing features such as Picture-in-Picture mode, which allows you to watch a video and use another app simultaneously. Android Oreo also lets you to access features like Notification Dots, Notification Channels, Android Instant Apps, and Autofill for passwords.
