Google Pixel 2 Will Be First Device to Run on Snapdragon 836 SoC: Rumors

The launch of new Google phone Google Pixel 2 is very near. And so once again the rumor mills have started regarding the smartphone. The phone has already been subjected to many rumors in the past. As always it will get the first Android update as it is the Google. Previously we saw that Pixel 2 will be manufactured by HTC.

This time the new rumor suggests that the Google Pixel 2 will be the smartphone to launch with Snapdragon 836 SoC. Earlier the rumor was that Pixel 2 will run on Snapdragon 835 processor. So it can’t be said for sure whether this rumor is for Pixel 2 or Pixel XL 2. Both the phones are scheduled to be launched during the end of this year.

Many sources also claim that the new processor will be similar to its predecessor in terms of hardware. Thus it can be said that it will feature higher peak GPU and CPU clock speeds than the Snapdragon 835. Qualcomm’s first  SoC was equipped with eight Kryo 280 cores clocked at a maximum frequency of 2.45GHz, as well as the Adreno 540 GPU.

Alleged specifications of Google Pixel 2:

Now talking about alleged specifications, Pixel 2 is likely to sport a 4.97-inch full HD display. It will come with the latest Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. This will be backed up by 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Although, you might expect a 128 GB variant as well. For design, it does look like Walleye would not be much different from its predecessor. A standard 3.5mm headphone jack will be featured alongside the smartphone.
