Google Fit Updated to Version 1.70; Workout History, Automatic Heart Rate Tracking Added

Google fit is a popular fitness tracking app which helps you track your activities like walking or cycling.

A new update for the app has been rolled out recently which will add some new interesting features to the app.

With the new Google Fit version 1.70, users will have a newly redesigned workout mode which will help them to track their activities.

There will be audio announcements which can be heard from the device while running on watches too, although this feature will only be supported by watches with an audio speaker and also the app will automatically measure and track user’s heartrate throughout the day. This last feature is currently only available on the LG Watch Sport and Huawei Watch 2 but soon it will roll out to other devices.

There is also a new workout history screen, which helps users track their activities done in recent time.

Additionally, the running mode has been redesigned, earlier, the main workout metrics occupied the top of the screen which was then followed by a screen of actions. In the new version, a clock and a pause button have replaced the metrics on the top and moved them to a second page.

The phone version of the app has also received a new shortcut which directly lead the user to the weight logging page. It makes it easy for the user to keep track without going through several pages to get it.
