China based smartphone brand, Comio has joined hands with V-Sun and Hipad Technology for locally assembling smartphones in India and is looking forward to an investment of Rs.150 crore over the following two years for the same.
The conjugated association is aiming at a considerably high production rate of nearly 1 million devices over the upcoming span of six months and is willing to employ nearly 600 people, as mentioned by the Chinese brand.
The facilities offered during to this agreement includes assembling, packaging, maintenance, testing, quality assurance and warehousing for most of the existing and upcoming handsets for the brand with over eight assemble and packaging lines, that include, five by V-Sun and three by Hipad Technology.
Comio generally manufactures the mid segment of smartphones whose price tag vary around the Rs.6,000 to Rs.12,000 boundaries. The Company has further plans to widen its growth in India with the help of a network of around 30,000 retailers, 800 distributers and more than 800 after sales touch points that will be subjected to look after the problems of 500-550 towns.
Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, CEO and Director of Comio India has mentioned in his statement, “With this initiative, Comio will be investing Rs.150 crore in manufacturing over the next two years in India. We look forward to reaching greater heights with our trusted partners- Hipad Technology and V-Sun”.
There is further information that Topwise Comminications, the official retailer of the Comio brand is looking forward to deploy 20 skilled engineers form China for the program. 10 such engineers will work in each of the two manufacturing facilities for the purpose of training and monitoring the assembling process to make the products at par with the global standards.
