After some tough competition, Samsung recently released its second generation virtual and personal assistant Bixby 2.0. As per the previous report, Bixby 2.0 was announced on October 18 in San Francisco. During the conference, Eui-Suk Chung, Executive Vice President of Samsung said that, even though Bixby had faced much competition in its earlier stage, now Bixby has registered more than 10 million active users and it is now available in more than 200 different countries. Reports say Bixby is giving tough competition to Google, Apple, and Microsoft and also fighting to make it present globally.
As per the information, till now Apple has 375 million active Siri users. On the other side, Microsoft’s Cortana has 145 million active users, and Google Assistant has more than 100 million active users. Bixby doesn’t have such vast active users, but in less than six months it’s able to acquire 10 million users which is a good sign for the company. The company expected that in future the user’s number would increase as the company is palling to produce more gadgets and appliances which will support Bixby. The company is also planning to improve the performance of Bixby to gain more active users.
As per the report, Bixby now only supports with the company’s products so developers should make it in such a way that it can be installed in other devices. The company may have faced some challenges as Alexa, Google Assistance, Cortana, and Siri already has acquired the market as the best virtual personal assistant. But Bixby has one advantage as it supports the Korean language. It has an integrated camera function. When the users click some photos of some famous tourist places, it can help the users to identify the place and also give their websites details and other important data.
However, if Samsung wants to come on top of the list, then the company should give some unique features to Bixby to divert people’s mind from other virtual assistants to Bixby.
