A Chinese technology company, Xiaomi has topped the lists of selling, the most wearable products in the second quarter of 2017. The brand has sold close to 3.7 million products and has led past Apple and Fitbit who occupied the top positions until last quarter.
According to data given in the Strategic Analytics recent report, Xiaomi in the Q2 of 2017 occupied 17.1 percent market share, maximum in its league. Comparing to the company’s last year sales, where the units were 3 million, they have seen a 22 percent increase in their market share, this year. On the contrary, Fitbit moved to second place and Apple crawled to the third position, with 15.7 and 13 percent market shares respectively.
This Chinese technology has drastically reduced the sales of Fitbit from over 5.5 million in 2016 to 3.4 million in this Quarter. The reason given by Analytics in the report, for the decline in Fitbit’s popularity is, the innumerable features and various health monitors being offered by Xiaomi. Also, this Chinese technology comes at such an reasonable price that it becomes a suitable gadget for masses.
Apple, though came third in the list but has seen a steady increase in its sales over the last few years. Its products do not attract a major part of the population but has a fixed class of audience. It shipped 2.8 million units in this quarter report compared to 1.8 million in 2016. Thus, showing a 56% increase in popularity and demand.
Thus, Xiaomi clearly becomes the most wearable band in this quarter report.
