Android Based MIUI 10 Officially Announced by Xiaomi’s VP

The successor to the MIUI 9 dubbed MIUI 10 has been announced by Xiaomi officially. The announcement of the latest Android-based MIUI custom OS was done by co-founder and senior vice-president of Xiaomi Hong Feng in an event in Beijing on 23 January.

Just some days ago, Xiaomi listed 40 devices which will be getting MIUI 9 version. The new firmware includes retooled notification pane, new image editor, 2x faster app load times, new Mi video app, split screen and more. Right now the latest stable version of MIUI is 9.1.1, whereas, some devices are also getting the 9.2.1 beta including Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A/Redmi Y1 Lite, Redmi Note 5A Prime/Redmi Y1, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, Redmi 5, Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi 4 Prime, Mi 3, Mi 4 and Mi Note. The details regarding the MIUI 10 are still not shared by the company but according to Hong Feng, the main focus for developers will be artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Xiaomi this year will be participating in the MWC, 2018 event which is going to take place from February 26  to March 1 in Barcelona. There, the company is expected to launch some of its devices but which ones, it is still not confirmed. We are hopeful to have an interesting event as many smartphone manufacturers like Samsung, Nokia and many more will be unveiling their flagship models there.
