Bharti Airtel, a leading telecom operator in India launched its 4G Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) services to other telecom circles. The telecom operator had recently launched the 4G VoLTE service in the Mumbai telecom circle. Now, the operator has launched the VoLTE service in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh telecom circles. Both, the prepaid and post-paid Airtel subscribers will be able to enjoy 4G VoLTE facility. The only thing required is a 4G enabled Airtel sim card and a smartphone that supports 4G VoLTE.
In situations when the Airtel VoLTE customers do not get 4G connectivity, then they can easily connect the calls on 3G/2G network without any interruption in the network. This is one of the most important factors when compared to the 4G VoLTE service of Reliance Jio which does not have an option to switch to 3G/ 2G network in case of 4G unavailability. The 4G VoLTE service has been provided with no additional cost to the customers. With this service, the customers can make HD voice calls and video calls to mobile and landline numbers anywhere in India. The charge of the Airtel VoLTE plan includes all of these costs without any extra hidden charges.
Airtel VoLTE will offer faster call connectivity to the customers which will be almost three times faster compared to a normal call. Besides, the customer will also be able to use the Airtel 4G internet connection while making a VoLTE call. Presently, Airtel 4G VoLTE facility runs only on few latest smartphones like Apple iPhone 6 and 7 series, Redmi Note 4, Oppo F3, Xiaomi Mi Max Mi 5 and some of Samsung’s devices. Soon few smartphones will get an update as many mobile vendors are upgrading the phone software to support the Airtel VoLTE service.
